We hope this message finds you well. Today, we would like to take a moment to share an important update regarding our major fundraising initiative with the Crapaud Exhibition/Tractor Pulls.
As you know, fundraising plays a crucial role in supporting our mission and enabling us to make a positive impact with our members and players. However, at this time, the format of these efforts will change for 2023 and we will continue to monitor.
We want to assure you that financial decisions are not made lightly. We understand the importance of maintaining financial stability and sustainability of our association and we are actively exploring alternative avenues to ensure our association has long-term viability.
This event has grown and evolved over the years that it has become a challenge to organize and run at the capacity required to service this many people. The logistics of an event this size has forced us to shift our approach and partner with an event and catering organization to offer better food and services for this two-weekend event. This partnership will allow Southside MHA to continue to offer volunteer shifts for our members and allow us to work with our community to fundraise for the 2023-2024 season. There will be changes and possible reduced volunteer slot opportunities.
The Exhibition/Tractor Pull organizers have supported Southside MHA for many years and we are extremely grateful for this and will continue working with them and their supporting partners.
This does not mean that your support is any less valuable or appreciated. We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support you have shown us over the years.
In the meantime, we encourage you to stay connected with us through our various communication channels (our FB page and our website). We will send a further update of the volunteer slots hopefully no later than July 14th.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this decision or would like to explore other ways to contribute, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We value your feedback and ideas, and we are always eager to hear from our membership.
Thank you once again for your understanding and unwavering support. Together, we can continue to make a difference to each child who glides on the ice.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Southside Minor Hockey Association Volunteer Board
